The house is situated on the south side of a hill in the wine region of Provence, between the Gorges du Verdon and Côte D‘Azur. The location allows applying upside-down typology. Bedrooms are located on the lower floor, inside the hill, which helps bedrooms to stay cool during summer and warm in the winter, without the need for air conditioning and heating. The living areas are located above, allowing main entry to the house from the road above the hill, as well as providing stunning views to the landscape below. The house enjoys a high degree of privacy, because the façade facing the driveway appears rather closed, with a materialization of locally found stone, providing the residents with a sensation of being nested into the hillside.
