Hondsrugpark, located in Amsterdam Zuidoost, is a project transforming a former four-lane road into a linear park. This 800-meter-long public space is a respond to a rapidly developing area, with thousands of new homes and residents expected in the coming years.

Our concept prioritizes nature, featuring a large central green space to support biodiversity and provide a peaceful scenery for the passer by.
The trees embrace the linearity of the park and are placed on different lines, alternating species to create a colorful tableau.

Pedestrians, cyclists and limited car traffic, are being directed along the park's edges near the buildings, ensuring nature remains the central focus.

At the park's intersection with the Molenwetering, we created a connection with the water. This not only enhances the park's appeal but also supports biodiversity and encourages water-based activities.

On the north-west side, we've allocated a large area for sports, including a running track, two multifunctional sports fields and more. This promotes an active lifestyle and community engagement.

In 2024, we completed the Sketch Design (SO) phase. This year, 2025, we are developing the Preliminary Design (VO) phase, refining our vision for Hondsrugpark.

Stay tuned while we keep on developing our design
